{News} TVXQ Comeback – A Grand Showcase at the Seoul Plaza
One of Asia’s most popular idol groups, TVXQ (known as Dong Bang Sin Ki in Korea and as Tohoshinki in Japan), is to open a grand showcase stage at the Seoul Plaza in front of the Seoul City Hall on September 21, marking their first performance in Korea after one year and seven months. This concert is receiving much deserved attention as it is an exceptional honor to be able to perform in front of the Seoul City Hall Plaza, where only national events and performances usually take the stage.
On the concert date, Dong Bang Shin Gi will present for the first time, the new title song from their fourth album that will be released on the 24th, along with a couple other songs from their new album. Video of the concert will air in early October on the SBS broadcast titled <Dong Bang Shin Gi Comeback Special>. Dong Bang Shin Gi’s management agency, SM Entertainment, commented, “Dong Bang Shin Gi will live up to their reputation as Asia’s top idol group by performing on such a special stage in front of all their fans.” SM Entertainment also stated that this showcase concert along with the group’s scheduled appearance on SBS <Ingigayo (The Music Trend)> on the 28th will begin their official tour in Korea.

Gold medalist in Yudo, Choi Min-ho bumped into Dong-bang-shin-ki member, Yunho at a jjim-jil-bang (Korean version of a sauna) after returning from the Beijing Olympics a few days ago. The gold medalist posted up the picture on his Cyworld on August 27th 2008. Netizens are jealous that the gold medalist had a random encounter with the DBSK member.

[News] Han-Kyung, Chinese Member of Super Junior Carries Olympic Torch
Hang-kyung, the Chinese member of popular male vocal group Super Junior, took part in carrying the torch of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Han-kyung took part in the Olympic torch relay during one of the final legs of its journey in Bejing. Numerous fans flocked to the streets to greet the idol star.
The torch relay was broadcast live across China through BTV which introduced the singer as a popular member of Super Junior who was selected by Korea’s SM Entertainment.
After completing his leg of the relay, the singer said it was the single most special moment of his life and that he felt honored, happy and moved by the whole experience. He also went on to thank his Korean, Chinese and other Asian fans for supporting him.
Han-kyung nabbed the number one spot in the “2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Bearer Selection Vote” which took place on the Chinese website for Coca Cola (http://www.icoke.cn). He was chosen as the torch bearer for the Beijing relay earlier this year in March.

[Info] Watch SMTOWN LIVE ’08 and Tour Korea
On August 15th, SMTOWN LIVE ’08 will take place at Jamsil. This exclusive summer engagement will feature the live performances of TVXQ and Super Junior who are famous not only in Korea but in Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. This opportunity is a good way to get out and tour Korea a little better!
The festivities will begin at 5pm Jamsil’s Main Stadium and run for five hours. Beginning with this performance, Asia Tour event will take place in four different cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Bangkok.
Further more, TVXQ, The Grace, Super Junior, Girl’s Generation, Jang Ri-in, and SHINee will gather for this concert and play some of their hit songs as well as some unreleased singles.
As a SM’s first large scale concert, unique presentations and additional events are planning to take place. Also, family seats are separately set up for families, friends, and lovers so they can all together watch this special concert.
This event’s official sponsor, Korea Tourism Organization, is preparing special tour packages for international fans that include flight arrangements, accommodation, and R-seat tickets. As soon as the tour package is put together, it will be introduced through Korea Tourism Organization’s English, Chinese, and Japanese homepage.

[News] TVXQ Attracts 390,000 Fans to their Concert Tour

Korean boy band sensation TVXQ (known as Dong Bang Sin Ki in Korea and as Tohoshinki in Japan) has proved its popularity across Asia once again.
According to TVXQ’s agency SM Entertainment, the band’s huge fan base across Asia, riding on the Korean Wave or Hallyu, has attracted about 390.000 people to their second Asian concert tour (entitled “TVXQ 2nd ASIA TOUR CONCERT ‘O’) and two concert tours in Japan.
It said the band attracted 184,000 fans to their 13 concerts in six Asian cities–Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur since February 2007 and 205,000 people to their two concert tours in Japan held in 2007 and 2008.
Tickets sold out almost immediately as soon as the box offices opened in the Asian cities.
In Thailand in particular, the band set a record two years in a row, becoming the most popular international artists to attract the largest number of people.
Last year, the group became the first Asian band to win the Thailand Music Awards for both Best Music Video (“Rising Sun”) and Favorite Asian Artist. They also won the Popular Vote Asia Artist award at the 2006 Virgin Hits Awards in Thailand.
TVXQ is now getting ready to thrill Korean fans this fall with some new songs.

{INFO} Box in the Ship for USJ’s rollercoaster ride!
Appointed Universal Studios Japan Goodwill Ambassador Tohoshinki is making it big! The group’s recent track “Box in the Ship” from どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう? (Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattan Darou?) single is used as the new song for the roller coaster Hollywood Dream the Ride. In addition, a life-size photo of the group is displayed in the Palace Theater in New York and the area inside the park (This is all inside the park; not literally NY, USA).
Special made rubber stamps of the five members will also be distributed at the entrance for visitors’ use. This will run from July 23rd (Wednesday)-August 24th (Sunday). The designs will be modified from time to time during the period.
